Plant Description: The red bird of paradise is one of those plants that look great even under the most intense desert conditions. In fact, the warmer it is the better this plant will look. It attracts hummingbirds and bees. In the warm months this shrub erupts from the ground and grows very fast, producing hundreds of gorgeous deep red to orange flowers. The plant is dormant in the winter although it's still a graceful addition with purple leaves in the cooler season.
