Plant description: The blue hibiscus is neither blue or a hibiscus at all. It is from Australia and is actually lavender in color. The leaves look nothing like a hibiscus, they are more fern-like in nature. This plant makes for a very colorful spring feature in any arid garden.
Bloom period: Spring, bountiful lavender blooms approx. 4 inches wide. A single blooming season can yield hundreds of flowers. The flowers last 1 or 2 days.
